The fact he’s named kinda brushes over the fact this is a wild elephant. Born in the wild, raised in the wild, the only human interaction is watching the safaris. And after mean humans shot him, he decided the best course of action was to go visit the nice humans who just take pictures in hopes they’d help him. And then, even though they didn’t help him right away, he trusted that because they continued to be nice, he was safe, and they would help him.

Orphans who were rescued, raised, and released by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya have communicated that it is a place of safety to other elephants who’ve never even been there.
Injured animals will show up there when they have been harmed by poachers because they know it is a place where they can get help!

Because most people never see farm animals being their most natural selves, people tend to think of them as almost inert. When any animal other than a dog is playful or affectionate, people say, “That cow (or pig, etc.) ‘thinks he’s a dog,’ or is ‘acting like a dog’” The reality is, most farm animals naturally romp, play, nuzzle, think, have best friends and show affection.
I had to Google javelina – had never heard of them – they look like solid critters.
I forget how many different parts of the word my tumblr followers hail from. For those of you not familiar with the desert animals of the American Southwest such as the javelina here are some fairly representative pictures of the creatures.
Now just think about flying around a dark corner going +20mph and finding a group of them taking up the entire road right in front of you.
