You know, I think what makes Papyrus and his boastfulness so endearing, despite egoism usually being a negative and unappealing character trait, is the fact that his self-confidence does not exist at the expense of others. He doesn’t build himself up by putting other people down; he thinks highly of everyone! He can consider himself great and admirable while still genuinely being impressed by the people around him and celebrating their accomplishments.

Papyrus understands that greatness is not a competition; it’s something everyone can win at! And even if he is the greatest, it’s only so that he can show everyone else how to recognize their own inherent value.

Papyrus believes in himself! Papyrus believes in me! Papyrus believes in you, too!

Sans Boss Fight: Stopping you from going any further in the game/ is making you answer for the crimes you did throughout the game as you stand and fight him in the judgement hall and takes 10-15 minutes

Jevil boss Fight: READY TO GET YOUR NUTS SLAPPED OFF FOR 5 MINUTES FOR BEING A CURIOUS LITTLE FUCK?

Hot take: the Undertale fandom wasn’t ruined by porn. It was ruined by people insisting that fandom be done the “right” way and cringe culture. It was the people insisting that the fandom had to be uwu pure in ways that other fandoms weren’t (even though Toby Fox himself came up with the porn tag) just as much as it was cringe compilations. Suddenly, you had to follow all these rules and keep your head down so a cringe comp wouldn’t publicly humiliate you for liking a skeleton. It was scary.

Unpopular opinion: lots of people depict Sans to make super edgy jokes in fanon, but honestly Pap would be more likely to do this. Most of Sans’ jokes in-game were puns and whoopee-cushion pranks (so basically pretty clean humor) but when you fight him in Genocide, he gets deadly serious. In contrast, Papyrus makes a Shakespeare reference and an “AT LEAST I STILL HAVE MY HEAD!” joke and keeps on smiling as his severed head lays on the ground. The true comedic edgelord is Papyrus

This is absolutely correct and I 100% stan this.

Sans’ jokes are the equivalent of those “joke books” you’d read in 5th grade. They’re so clean as to be incredibly lame and there isn’t one edgy or dark thing about them. The fact that they’re lame and groan-worthy and just plain terrible is the POINT.

Papyrus on the other hand…. I… I don’t know if he MEANS to make dark jokes or not… I think he just… says things??? and they unintentionally end up being hilarious but also kinda troubling???

What even is Papyrus.
