oh yeah Keith is literally written AND pronounced as ‘kiss’ in Korean, because Korean has no ‘th’ sounds. I’ve heard that it’s same for Japanese and French too. Cute.
as someone who was previously abused, who was manipulated and told i couldn’t do what i loved, i genuinely despise adam. i don’t even know him much, but it is such an abusive and manipulative tactic to say “don’t expect me to be here when you get back.” that SAME SHIT was told to me on numerous occasions by my abusive ex. “you do this, and we’re over.”
something that another blogger mentioned was along the lines of “as soon as you are no longer living by their rules, they drop you.” and it’s so. fucking. true.
abusers will do anything in their power to control you. that there? that’s a manipulation tactic
i don’t care how “happy” they seemed to be in their relationship, if it’s portrayed that way. even people that look happy together can be in an abusive situation
this genuinely makes me love sheith all the more. keith continuously tells shiro “I’m not giving up on you.” how fucking powerful those words are to a victim of abuse, i can never begin to describe. the sheer devotion and drive to just be there for shiro is clearly very important to him, a victim of abuse and manipulation
and don’t even get me started on how important it is to someone who is terminally, physically, or mentally ill. it just makes it all the more of a powerful, with a huge impact on the person
TL;DR: because of my own history with abuse, i can only see adam as abusive because of his manipulation tactic of “don’t expect me to be there when you get back.” but keith? keith is the exact opposite of that, and i’m sure shiro is realising it, more and more each day
okay i know this was a meme post but look okay there’s implications to this scene that are kind of heartbreaking.
keith’s wearing a handkerchief for disguise and plausible deniability when people review the footage and wonder what scrawny kid with a grudge against the garrison just took out three full grown men in six point nine seconds flat
he doesn’t need to take off his disguise to see anything or to accomplish what he set out to do but then
he realizes that shiro’s the one strapped to the table and takes precious time he does not have to take off his disguise
he doesn’t know that pidge has hacked the feeds, which means he’s exposing himself to future prosecution for breaking into a government facility and attacking government agents
he doesn’t even know that shiro woke up surrounded by masks
he doesn’t know that shiro spent a year without a familiar face
he just knows that when shiro wakes up it’s important for shiro to see his face and know it’s keith
like this scene sold me instantly. The absolute /reverence/ that Keith breathes out Shiro’s name after violently assaulting everyone in his way to get to him. It truly does feel like a sudden intimate moment that wasn’t meant for us to see.
