so… y’all really here tagging and talking about Voltron by calling it “V slur” huh
like
y’all really are accessorizing serious matters just because y’all mad that your ship is not canon and was never meant to be
y’all really doing that huh
ok but next time don’t you dare say you care for oppressed people because clearly to you it’s all a fucking joke
They cognitive dissonance involved with calling VLD homophobic for “““queerbaiting”““ klance, while symaltatiously making antishipping “pride flags” and tagging shit as “v slur” without a trace of irony, is impressive
drags hands down face I can’t fucking believe that we’re still on “crimes committed against cartoon characters are exactly the same as crimes committed against actual real life people” but here we goddamn are
A good visual to go with the mood of this post:
I was gonna put this in the tags but it’s too long but all in all I just wish ppl would realize that fictional ppl arent real! They cant feel pain! They cant be traumatized! They are objects for our use and consumption and we can treat them however we want and it has no real world consequences bc they! Arent! Real!
You can throw a doll against a wall, burn it, cut it up, drown it, mutilate it and none of that is in any way comparable to doing those things to a real human being and anyone who thinks so is insane. Why does the fact that hurting an inanimate object is never as bad as hurting a real person suddenly get thrown out the window with fictional characters?
this one time I ran a red light on mistake and I didn’t notice it was red until it was too late so I just ran the light screeching like an angry pterodactyl the entire time
a cop was at the intersection so he pulled me over and when he came up to my window he was wheezing cause he was laughing so hard and he said
“ok so i know you ran a red light and that’s really bad and you should never do it again but i’m not gonna give you a ticket cause that was the funniest thing i’ve ever seen and my partner can’t get out of the car cause he’s laughing so hard he’s about to pee himself”
i forgot that i’d had my window open when i ran the red light and the cop told me that all he heard from my car was this really high-pitched “screeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEAAAHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”
and that’s how i got out of getting a ticket for running a red light
one of my favorite things about the pokemon universe is how the humans are esp. the bad guys
like mob boss giovonni can pull out a glock and waste my 10 y/o ass but he doesn’t he just accepts that i knocked out his cat and hands me money
I have my own theory that humans in the Pokemon world don’t even have a concept of direct violence. They settle all disputes through Pokemon battles, but also a human without pokemon is entirely helpless. This might lend its self further to the notion that humans can’t venture outside of towns without bringing trained pokemon to protect them. Like, can Pokemon world humans even throw a punch? I think the notion of humans ever directly using violence against one another without pokemon involved is something they can’t even think of.
In one of the movies ash just straight up clocks lucario
ash is innovative in a world where humans can’t punch
*steeples fingers* okay so I know this is a humorous fun joke but like…
Let’s think about this for a moment.
Mob Boss Giovanni probably has a gun. Given the level of technological development in pokemon’s universe it’s very unlikely that nobody invented gunpowder or ever thought to put it together into a weapon, or that Giovanni would procure one.
Let’s also assume the average ten-year-old bright-eyed pokemon trainer is not wearing a bulletproof vest, or has particularly impressive gun dodging abilities.
Giovanni shoots child, Giovanni probably dies immediately.
antis: we think we should have the ability to rip any fic down if we don’t like it, that should be a thing we can do so we can control nasty content
Me: so you want to give people the ability to rip down gay content on the basis of it being gay and therefore nasty?
antis: No! no no no no ofc! we just want to be able to control this generic and very dubious idea of “nastiness” which, obviously, varies from person to person, this would NEVER be used to censor gay content because that’s never considered nasty OBVS
