Honestly the Hero Academia fandom on tumblr dot com is a special sort of shit show and I … really don’t know how it’s taken this long for it to start reaching critical mass. And rest assured, it is fast approaching dangerous levels of toxicity and that’s pretty damn sad. Fandom spaces never used to be as divided as they currently are. Just take a look at old fandoms, even here on this hell site they function in an entirely different way. These stupid “do not interact” banners and icons that take a pointed shit on pride flags are particularly harmful and downright offensive to the people who suffered for those flags. They actually mean something to them and you’re out here essentially appropriating a meaningful symbol to the community and bastardizing everything it’s supposed to stand for by pasting your hateful rhetoric all over it? Vile.
Death threats, doxxing, harassment, stalking, very serious allegations being tossed around like confetti, vindictive slander, falsified police reports – and all for what? A ship you don’t like? A character you can’t stand? Y’all are absolutely psychotic if you legitimately believe for one second that any of this fandom shit actually matters, in your life or someone else’s life or in the real world, and there is not a single thing you can say that would validate this behavior in anyway. You’re trolling, but hiding behind the shield of social justice and claiming that you’re just looking out for other people.
You’re not. Plain and simple. You just like being contrarian for the sake of it and anyone who doesn’t agree with you is treated like less than dirt – regardless of their life experiences or traumas – and you do everything in your power to bully them into either siding with you or hiding in fear. It’s pathetic and wholly reprehensible. I can’t wait for the day that you anti’s grow up a little, gain some real world experience and get some true knowledge under your belt only for you to look back and say … damn I was a right cunt. I really wish someone would’ve knocked my fucking teeth out for carrying on like that. Because it will happen. Trust me on that. You will assuredly come to regret this behavior somewhere down the line and I just pray that you don’t destroy too many lives before you get to that point. I don’t know who to blame specifically for this unseemly state of affairs in the fandom circle (and it’s not just Hero Academia, yet it does stand out as being particularly awful) but I do know one thing. Current Tumblr is a cesspool of hate and anger and negativity that would honestly rival even that of 4chan in its hay day.
