I found this screenshot cleaning up my desktop and holy shit I thought we as a society had moved past book burning but I guess antis just want to sound like radical right wingers

(submitted by anon)

Man that’s just… Kinda sad. This discourse really sucks because there’s absolutely nothing wrong with liking yaoi manga, yet this person has been convinced there is to the point of actually contemplating burning queer literature I mean

Damn.

That’s just not okay.

But if op wants to send me all of their yaoi I’d take it gladly, someone should give it a good home. I sure as hell hope they didn’t fucking burn it.

“Should I burn these books because they’d be enabling someone else’s problematic behavior” is such a deeply

terrifying

thing to say

Part of me is ‘how the hell does someone end up that brainwashed and completely self-hating?’ another part of me sort of pities them. Then there’s the completely chilling possibility that, under the guidance of the right sort of authoritarian goon, this person could end up in a frenzied, book-destroying crowd (as we’ve seen multiple times during the last century) with almost nothing in the way of self-examination and realization that they’re caught up in a nightmare.

Just Anti Things: book burning, literally

…bakugo is fictional?? Like good for you, you want a cookie for
~forcing yourself to stop finding him hot now that youre 18~? God damn
do they really think they’re gonna get some purity cookie or something?
‘Oh Father up in Heaven, please banish these romantic thoughts of a 16
yr old anime character now that I am 18. Please bestow the power of
Adulting upon me such as *checks list* taxes, jobs, children, marriage,
and only Pure™ content. Please reserve the Dirty thoughts for adult and
adult fictional characters only’

This is just so ridiculous, holy
shit. I’m 21, my friend is 23, we have been watching for years (adult
swim at 2 am anyone?) and the characters are still like 16! They are
still fictional characters! I can age my OC down or age them up! I’m not
gonna stop reading smut just cause they haven’t aged in 10 years while I
have! Just oh my god this purity bullshit needs a hard stop. Nobody
cares that you jack off to fictional characters! Literally nobody!

Sorry
for the ramble but just oh my god this is ridiculous. This is so
fucking ridiculous. This is so ridiculous i need a new word for how
ridiculous it is.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry lmao. This is so ridiculous, I’m speechless

Okay I stopped laughing and kinda have my thoughts together now lol

First of all… “force myself to ignore that thought,” “trynna banish that thought,” y’all sounding like some Christian pastor telling teenagers to “banish sinful thoughts" aka normal thoughts that hormonal teenagers get.

Next, there is nothing wrong with an 18 year old crushing on a 16 year old. NOTHING. And there’s especially nothing wrong with an 18 year old crushing on a 16 year old ANIME CHARACTER. He’s a fictional character. He’s not real.

He also looks like this

image

He’s got the body of a 20+ year old Olympic gymnast with all those muscles and is voiced by 30-year-old men like ??? he’s an animated character voiced
by grown adult men in both Japanese and English, crush away, damn.

Also, it’s beyond ridiculous that anon is like “oh I have to outgrow my crush on this fictional character because I’m a legal adult now, 2 whole years older than him,” that’s the dumbest thing I’ve read all day. I’ve had a crush on Aladdin since I was like 4-years-old, idk how old Aladdin is, 18 maybe? Guess what, my 20+ year old ass has still got a crush on him because he’s a fictional character and he’s cute, sue me. Is the world ending? Are children being harmed because a 25-year-old woman is crushing on an 18 year old Disney prince? Nope and nope. It’s… just a crush on a cartoon character. You can think it’s cringey or embarrassing, whatever, but it’s harmless.

Lastly, “I already miss being a minor,” I think saying that is more fucking creepy than just being a legal adult admitting to having a crush on an anime character 2 years younger than you tbh

My super advanced mapmaking technique – a handful of dice makes the map nice

interesting method

My question is do the die affect topography any or just set the borders?

I imagine it’s up to the person making the map. But maybe the more dice in a single spot, the more mountainous or forested the area. Maybe choose a few dice to be deemed cities, and some dice for ruins.

Maybe let the dice choose, like a nat 20 would be the world capital, and 10’s would be mountains or something like that.

1-5: Plains and fields

6-8: Forests

9-11: Mountains

12-14: Tundras and snow covered lands

15-17: Farms and towns

18-19: Larger cities

20: Capitals and castles

what would happing if all the dice landed on a 20?

then you have a very busy continent

not all of those are d20s though, so you’d have to come up with another method for the other ones

Adjusted for all dice you might have

D20

1-5: Plains and fields

6-8: Forests

9-11: Mountains

12-14: Tundras and snow covered lands

15-17: Farms and towns

18-19: Larger cities

20: Capitals and castles

D12

1-3: Plains and fields

4-6: Forests

7-8: Mountains

9-10: Tundras and snow covered lands

11: Farms and towns

12: Larger cities

D10

1-3: Plains and fields

4-6: Forests

7-8: Mountains

9: Tundras and snow covered lands

10: Farms and towns

D8

1-4: Plains and fields

5-6: Forests

7: Mountains

8: Tundras and snow covered lands

D6

1-3: Plains and fields

4: Forests

5-6: Mountains

D4

1-2: Plains and fields

3: Forests

4: Mountains

Holy shit. Definitely using this.

I swore at how simple this motherfucking thing is. You’re all bastards and i love you.

saw a comment someone made on a post saying “it’s not possible to read dark fiction and not have that affect your morals, you can’t train your brain NOT to normalize those things!” and i completely agree

as a life-long crime fiction and horror fan, i am an immoral monster. i’ve watched all 456 episodes of law and order and committed a murder after each one. i ate my neighbors after watching hannibal. i started a meth lab after breaking bad. i ruined my high school prom because i watched carrie the night before. in middle school i read stephen king’s it, went down to the sewers with some friends and

Wendy why would you hide this masterpiece in the tags

Like, all hyperbole aside, don’t @ me about how fiction can guide your mindset. Believe me, I know. Consuming certain pieces of media and thinking about them has helped to make me the person I am today. But the argument that consuming less-than-pure content (and pure according to whom?) is inherently harmful to “young, impressionable minds” is exactly the same bullshit that book-banning, fundamentalist types have been spewing for decades.

Sorry to put this salt mine on your dashes for a third time today, but I can’t believe I missed OP’s most excellent tags:

That’s a wrap, folks.
